“President Donald Trump” Hannity FULL Inteview 1/26/17. n his interview with President Donald Trump tonight, Fox News’ Sean Hannity asked Trump whether he would think about changing how his administration deals with the mainstream media. Following a discussion about his CIA visit last weekend and how Trump didn’t like how it was covered, Hannity wondered about Trump’s ongoing relationship with the press. “Some of these networks were colluding with Hillary’s campaign to defeat you,” the Fox News pundit noted. “I’ve seen major newspapers to cable networks that use the word liar. And my question to you is, does that make you want to rethink entirely how this administration will deal with the media?” Trump answered by calling the media outlets “the liars” and once again bringing it back to his favorite topic of how many people watched the inauguration. “I had the largest audience,” Trump claimed. “If you add the television, you add all the sources, the largest audience in the history of inaugurations. I did.” Trump’s first cable news interview as president was broadcast on Fox News, conducted by Sean Hannity. During one point in the conversation, the flap around the Martin Luther King bust was brought up. As you may recall, TIME’s Zeke Miller erroneously reported that the bust had been removed from the Oval Office, only to find out shortly after it was still there. Miller apologized for the mistake and TIME backed him up. Trump stated that it was a “very serious charge” because it wasn’t that they said the bust had been taken out, but “what they’re saying is that I’m a racist.” POTUS would also claim that “when it was revealed that they were very wrong, nobody even talks about it.” He later added that he “had great respect for Dr. Martin Luther King.”
