This Day In History March 12th: FDR Gives His First Fireside Chat
Television has in many ways robbed people of their imagination. If television had been available to watch President Franklin Roosevelt give his fireside chats, they would never have gone over even close to what they did. America – nearly everyone – looked forward to his next fireside chat. And they were hard times when he was speaking. He brought the people out of the Great Depression only to soon find us plunged into the Second World War. In good times and in bad, Roosevelt did his fireside chats and America found hope through them. Here’s Ray with today’s this day in history….
